Right…the day has finally arrived that we begin the month long diet and exercise Life is Savage Summer Challenge i’ve been postponing for ages and since summer is fast approaching it’s about time that you and i start getting in shape hey. I say ‘we’ because i’m roping you in whether you like it or not. All that winter food you’ve been stockpiling is hibernating in your ass and we need to make our fat cry. This year i’m making a few changes to the month long challenge and the good folks at Cipla Nutrition are gonna lend a hand because it’s no secret that i’m lazy, have no self control and need all the help i can get.
So if you wanna join me for the next 30 days then keep reading my little muffin top.
Ok so firstly lemme just run through last year’s challenge. It was essentially no carbs and no beer with some exercise thrown in for good measure. My goal was to drop 5 kgs and get my body fat percentage under 10%. I pretty much achieved that, but this year i’m gonna make a few changes.
Firstly the NO CARBS rule is staying. And by no carbs i mean no refined sugars because well frankly sugar is the enemy. I’m a firm believer in that the the majority of the world’s diet related problems is due to our consumption of sugar. So no sweets, chocolates and cooldrinks. Those 3 are completely off limits. Last year i drank diet soda and that is the first new change for this challenge. This time…no fizzy drinks at all. Not the diet ones, not the zero ones…nada. Nothing containing artificial sweetners like asspartame (typo and it stays). Also on the list of n0-no carbs is bread, cereal, rice and pasta etc. Deal with it.
The only thing i’m gonna allow is veggies and fruit. And the minimal amount of fruit. I’m not gonna give you portion sizes coz you’re a grown ass person and common sense should prevail.
Right..next thing on the list is NO ALCOHOL. Last year i only did no beer and wine, but this time i’m gonna try and eliminate all alcohol…the hard stuff and that includes my beloved whisky (and rum and vodka) and also methylated spirits for you bergies out there. Ok now you’ll notice that i said ‘try’ and eliminate. I’m not gonna ban it completely because a few shots of Jose Cuervo may be called for in emergencies. Tequila is good because you can’t smash it like whisky or rum.
Let’s move along to exercise shall we. I go to gym once a day anyway so nothing is gonna change there. What i am gonna do is try and fit in some extra cardio exercise. Whether that’s a 5km run, some static bike riding or a rowing session here and there doesn’t matter. As long as you mix it up and burn some extra calories. What we are trying to achieve is what golfers call a two shot swing…reducing the amount of calories we take in by elimintaing sugar and alcohol from our diet as well as increase the amout of calories we burn by doing some extra cardio. Simple.
Lastly like i did last year, i’m gonna make my fat cry ugly tears by bringing in the good folks at Cipla Nutrition to help out. They have a elite supplement range designed to assist in weight management that will give us that extra advantage.
Just look at this range.
Just click on that for the full screen version.
That LipoBlast MX is gonna be my friend for the next 30 days. Increased fat loss, speeds up metabolism, increases thermogenesis. I’m good with that.
Right and now the mandatory before picture selfie. Yes i know i shall go sit in the corner for the rest of the day, but it has to be done. Will post an after picture at the end of the challenge.
Ya..a hint of a one pack there hey. But to be fair i did eat like a pig this weekend and drank enough beer to make sure my body has some fond memories for the month ahead.
A few other things to make note of:
For those of you who have decided to join me i’ll be giving constant updates from my Twitter feed @lifeissavage and will include health articles i’ve saved up that i know you’re gonna wanna read. I’ll also throw in some motivational quotes and pics on a daily basis.
Get involved and remember…sweat is just fat crying.
