Posted by on Sep 9th, 2013

Was hestitant to post this video on Friday, but i’ve been thinking about the entire weekend. A driver in Pinetown with a dashboard camera equipped captured footage of the horrific Pinetown accident a speeding truck smashed into 4 taxis killing 27 people. Showed some folks and they didn’t wanna watch, but i decided it’s important that drivers all around South Africa see it. Hopefully it will make everyone more alert of their surroundings while driving and realise how fragile your life on the road is.

Warning: while there are no visuals of the people killed in the accident, the footage is not suitable for sensitive viewers.

Makes me not wanna drive at all.

“The driver of the truck that crashed into four minibus taxis and a car in Field’s Hill, Pinetown, has been arrested, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Friday.

“He has been charged with culpable homicide, and reckless and negligent driving,” said Colonel Vincent Mdunge.

“The details of the accident are still being investigated, so we cannot draw any conclusions at this stage.”

Twenty-seven people were killed in Thursday evening’s accident; 24 died on the scene and three others in hospital, he said.” [Arrive Alive]

Be safe people.
