[insert your own swear word here] The Central Energy Fund is set to make an announcement today and if experts are to be believed it’s not gonna be pretty. Expectations are that motorists can expect a petrol price increase of between 80 and 90 cents/litre.
Peter Noke, group retail specialist for Royale Energy, said he expects the department of minerals and energy to announce today that the price of petrol in SA will increase by about about 87c per litre and the price of diesel will go up by 80 cents per litre.
Well that’s kak.
Yep…that price decrease a few weeks back wasn even worth a fart.
“Mike Schüssler, an economist at Economists.co.za, expects a petrol price hike of around 90c per litre.
“It is clear that with the weak rand, inflation is going to breach 6% or even 6.5% or 7%,” he ventured.
“July is going to be a tough month for consumers, because municipal electricity increases usually also happen in this month,” said Schüssler.” [Fin24]
