PSL blocks Liverpool vs Ajax Cape Town game
Posted by on May 8th, 2013

Some bleak news for those of you excited to see Liverpool vs Ajax CT at Cape Town Stadium on 21 May…the PSL has decided the game will not be allowed because it falls within the domestic season and that the publicity of the match will undermine the Nedbank Cup final.

Fair enough….uhhh except that the Nedbank Cup final is nearly a week later…oh and in a completely different city.

Liverpool fans need not panic though because the team will still be coming. They will just play someone else instead of Ajax.

“On Tuesday, Ajax were officially informed by the PSL that they would not be able to participate.

“We received a letter from the league that we would not be allowed to play against Liverpool,” said Ajax chief executive George Comitis.

“According to the PSL, because the season is still ongoing, we would be taking publicity away from the Nedbank Cup final, which is an official PSL competition.” [IOL]

Hopefully the PSL come to their sense and make the game happen.

And apparently Liverpool are trying to convince Suarez to come as well.

Who will they play against then? Our PSL teams (especially relegation fighting Ajax) would struggle against these guys. So if its not a PSL team, surely another international team would be brought in… Imagine Camps Bay FC vs Liverpool… Eish

…yeh, we would probably give them a run for their money 😉
