Latest census figures: Cape Town’s richest neighbourhoods are in Kuils River and Hout Bay

According to the latest census figures released last week…the richest neighbourhood in Cape Town where 20% of households rake in more than R2.45 million a year is Harbour Heights in Hout Bay. This is closely followed by an estate in Kuils River where 17% of the residents earn more than R2.45 million a year – the census’ highest measured salary bracket.

The wealthiest neighbourhood in South Africa is Blair Atholl Golf Estate in Joburg where nearly one in four people are multi-millionaires.

Doesn’t sound right. How do you afford a place in the waterfront for example when earning anything under that.
