Ya…whatever pal. Greek footballer, Giorgos Katidis, has been banned from all Greek national teams for life after he appeared to make a nazi salute on the pitch after scoring the winning goal in his teams 2-1 Super League victory. The player however claims he did not know what it means and he was pointing to an injured team mate in the crowd.
Sure buddy…this totally looks like you were pointing at your mate.
Yes totally innocent that.
“Katidis denies that he intended to mimic a salute made infamous during one of humanity’s darkest eras, his actions drew scathing criticism, coming as they did on the 70th anniversary of the deportation of Greek Jews to the Nazi concentration camps during World War Two. “I am not a fascist and would not have done it if I had known what it meant,” Katidis tweeted, as AEK waited to hear his explanation before deciding what course of action the club should take.” [Soccer Laduma]
Nice try though.
