Posted by on Mar 13th, 2013

PSA – as of April 1st 2013 you won’t be able to buy any alcohol in Cape Town on a Sunday. Ultra Liquors and Midmar in Green Point and Harley’s in Wale Street will be closed on Sunday once the new liquor laws take effect. And for those of you like to grab some booze on your way from work during the week at Woolies or the Pick n Pay liquor outlet…sorry for you, they will close at 6pm from now on.

Other changes to the liquor law that you will affect you include no drinking in a vehicle…even if you sit at the back and the driver is completely sober. And for you heavy drinkers…you won’t be allowed to keep more than 150 litres of alcohol in your house anymore. There goes those lazy boozing evenings all by yourself hey…or is that just me?

Ya…best you buy all your booze on a Saturday then hey.

There are a couple of more laws you should know about that go into effect on the 1st April so best you go brush up and make sure you don’t infringe hey. Click HERE to see how they will impact your drinking habits.

It does sound like the “April Fool’s Day” pranks, however there was something mentioned the other day about not drinking in the car or maybe that was a wish by some politician.

I didn’t know that ww sold alcohol.
