CT swimmer plans to complete 52 Robben Island to Blouberg crossings in a year
Posted by on Mar 1st, 2013

Have you ever done something nobody else in the whole world has ever accomplished? Very few people have, but lemme tell you quickly about a Cape Town swimmer who is planning to do just that.  34 year old Shaun Lilford is gunning to become the first person ever to complete 52 Robben Island Crossings (Robben Island to Blouberg) in a calender year. Crazy i know, but the guy is determined and besides the bragging rights, he’s also doing it to support a worthy charity.

I think we should all get behind this chap and give him some support hey. He completed the first crossing on February 19 and is still searching for a charity so if you have some suggestions or can help him out in any way then get involved.

That swim was 8.39km and took Shaun 2h55min to complete. In 12 degree water.

That deserves a slow clap.

Each swim requires him to pay for a support boat and it isn’t cheap so if you wanna play a part then give him a shout. And sports brands that wanna get involved should do the same. Every bit helps and besides you get to be part of an epic accomplishment if he is successful.

If you have a charity in mind then make yourself heard as well.

Good luck Sharky…i know you can do it pal.
