  • Giveaway – tickets to RAMfest Cape Town and RAMfest Joburg
Posted by on Feb 25th, 2013

RAMfest…South Africa’s biggest annual Alternative Music Festival is just around the corner where tens of thousands of screaming fans will converge to create a raucous spectacle of sound, light, dance and rock n roll. You’ll get to see international headlining acts Rise Against, Bring Me The Horizon and Pendulum DJ Set tear sh*t up alongside some epic local musicians like Jack Parow, Van Coke Kartel, Beast, Woodstock Mafia,Moving House and more.

Sound good…well keep reading my little festival junkie coz i got 2 weekend tickets for RAMfest Cape Town (incl. camping) and 2 weekend tickets for RAMfest Johannesburg (excl. camping) to give away to you lucky readers.

    ramfest

The Cape Town venue is at the Circle of Dreams, Riviersonderend and here’s a taste of who’ll be performing on the opening Friday night.

    Good times.

Right…now onto winning those tickets. I’ve got 2 weekend tickets for RAMfest Cape Town which includes camping and another 2 weekend tickets for RAMfest Johannesburg (excluding camping). Ya hey..decided to show the Joburg folks some love for a change.

Here’s how you can stand a chance to get your hands on those tickets. I’m gonna give 2 tickets to someone on Twitter and 2 tickets to someone who leaves a comment below this post. Not gonna say who gets the Cape Town tickets and who gets the Joburg tickets so make sure to enter both ways.

For the Twitter folks…here’s what you need to do. Follow @Ramfest and @lifeissavage then send out the following tweet depending on which city you are from.

“Retweet to win 2 weekend tickets to #RAMfest2013 Cape Town with @lifeissavage and @Ramfest “

    OR

“Retweet to win 2 weekend tickets to #RAMfest2013 Jozi with @lifeissavage and @Ramfest “

Easy hey. Be sure to tweet the correct city though.

    And to double your chances…

The other 2 tickets will go to someone who leaves a comment below this post saying which act you are most keen to see, what your favourite song of theirs is and which city you want the tickets for.

Doesn’t get any simpler than that hey.

Will pick random winners this coming Friday.

For info on the RAMfest 2013 festival check out the website HERE and also the Facebook page HERE.

UPDATE: all the answers were rad and i wish i could give you all tickets. Have randomly chosen a winner and Lucky Lucy gets 2 tickets to RAMfest Cape Town. Thanks everyone for submitting a comment.

Rise Against – The Art of Losing!!! Man this song described to a T what was going on in my relationship at the time and how i was feeling and looking back it still holds a lot of truth and meaning! But then so do most of their songs. I like songs that mean something, lyrics need to talk to me and thats what Rise Against’s lyrics do, they talk to me in the most profound ways!!! And that is why they are one of my favourite bands! And i really hope i get to see them at Ramfest – JHB

Most keen to see Rise Against in Cape Town! Favourite song; ALL OF THEM.

I have been listening to their albums back to back for the last few months since knowing they were coming down. I will be at the front, screaming every word along with them. If I had to pick a favourite it would be Give it All, or Hero of War. Both still send shivers down my spine when hearing it. If they played either live, I will die one day knowing I lived to see the best act everrrrrrrrr \ 😀 /

I have entered almost every comp available to try and make this dream come true, so far not helping my case. Asseblief help this punk get his ass to the festival Festival of the RAM!

    City: Cape Town

Act: Bring Me The Horizon <3

    Song: Braile
-this song means a lot to me because it took me from a silly teenager to a STRAIGHTxEDGE kid.

I'm not ashamed to say that I basically live for Bring Me The Horizon. I have learned so much from their lyrics. Their music have stopped me from self harm. (And I'm not just saying this, I'm being quite honest) it would be such a blessing to see them perform live (I can't afford tickets :$ :( )

THANKS FOR HAVING THIS COMPETITION :)

I am absolutely sure that Pendulum will make Ramfest go mental, but to choose a single song of thiers is rather darn hard.

    Artist: Pendulum
Song: Tarantula (reminds me of old school jungle beats, too much love for this track)
    City: Cape Town

`.It’s the end of February, and I’m flat broke. Payday? Around the 12th of each month.
Winning tickets has turned into the be-all-end-all of my 2013 RAM.
    IT’S GOTTA HAPPEN.

A chilled hour’s drive. Few minutes to pitch my tent under a shady tree. Settling in, putting on a pair of plakkies and just sinking into a weekend of awesome music and new vibes is what this Hermit is after.

Keen to go to RAMfest Cape Town, looking forward to Rise Against the most I think – if they play ‘Done With the Compass’ without me there… man. I have a hard enough time living down not being able to save up for tickets on time NOW.

I don’t want to think about how much this is going to haunt me when it joins the already rotting In Flames regret I’ve got stewing in my innards.

    Marius Bartlett says:

    Hey Jon,

I am seriously looking forward to Rise Against. Been wanting to see them since I got introduced to their album “Revolution Per Minute”. The first time I heard “Heaven Knows”, I fucking loved the band.
Every album after that they just seemed to out do themselves. My favourite album is “Suffering and The Witness” however, I can’t wait to hear “Heavens Knows” just to get all nostalgic over the rebellious teenager life once had and the memories associated with it. I would really appreciate Cape Town tickets. Thank man. Really enjoy your blog…
