• Petrol price in SA likely to go up by 80 cents/litre in March
Posted by on Feb 18th, 2013

Brace yourself. The price of petrol in South Africa is likely to go up by 80 cents a litre or more in March 2013 [insert your own swear word here]. This comes just a month after a 41c/l increase this month (Feb).

The rise in the international oil price and a weak Rand are responsible and if things stay the same then economists predict  the price of SA petrol will go up by as much as 87c/litre.

    Cue the following picture.

    petrol SA

    Sigh.

“If we look at the under-recovery where we are now on 87c for petrol, that means we’ll probably see around 87c increase in petrol if things stay the way that they are for the rest of the month,” said Krugel.

“Diesel will be around 60 to 65c. It is not looking good at all.” [fin24]

If an economist at KPMG says it’s not looking good then well…f**k.

    ARE THEY EFFING MAD ?

I suppose that they want us all to take these minibus-taxi vans instead…

    BULLSHIT !

If they eliminated the prisoners in prison – the pedophiles, murderers, rapists – lower our taxes …then things would be better.

Its amazing how everything goes up but the salaries stay the same!! Og wait not that the government needs to worry because their petrol is probably paid for!!

HOW are normal South Africans support to survive??

Give a tax break to cover all the increases in petrol. Makes me so angry!! There are so many out there already battling to live!!

SA is heading to a time where all business activity is haulted. Thats exactly what has happened in Zin, only this is worse as Zim did not have a country that it saw going through these tough times. In SA, every citizen knows well what has happened in Zim, yet ouur government is heading that way. I agree the gov officials do not pay for fuels, electricity or bonds, thats why they can pass these crazy increases- it doesn’t affect them at all, other than having a bigger budget to accomodate their ridiculous salaries and wasteful spending.
