So i’ve finally managed to organise the results for the latest Best of Cape Town 2012 poll and the best steak in Cape Town survey expectedly recieved numerous nominations with locals feeling very strongly about their favourite places. I think so far it’s the poll that recieved the second highest number of votes with the best sushi in Cape Town being the only other one with more people taing part. To see the result of the sushi poll along with best burger, best pizza, best coffee etc click HERE.
From the onset of the best steak poll it was clear that one of two favourites were gonna end up winning. They recieved the majority of the votes.
Anyways it’s all about choices so here’s the crowd sourced top 10 results for:

Nicely done to The Hussar Grill who according to the locals of Cape Town, makes the best steak in the city.
Somewhat controversial result since there are several around the city and only one Nelson’s Eye which had about half the number of nominations. Woulda been interesting to see how an individual branch of Hussar Grill faired against Nelson’s Eye. Hey, but that just gives you an excuse to try both and see which oneyou prefer more.
Other interesting observations from the poll is that Balthazar came in 3rd place. I’ve never eaten there so will definitely try it soon. Also surprising that El Burro made the list. It topped the poll for best Mexican restaurant in Cape Town, but apparently they make a mean ribeye.
Other venues that deserve a mention, but didn’t make the top 10 include Buzbey Grill, Societi Bistro, Pirates Pub and Grill, Mano’s, Grill and Butcher, Peddlars on the Bend, Theo’s, Louis on the Block, Wasabi, Zorba’s and the Famous Butcher’s Grill.
So what do you think?
Did your favourite make the list and have you tried all of the top 10?
