Not sure if you’re aware, but Creative Week Cape Town is currently on the go and some pretty interesting installations are popping up around the city. Saw a pretty rad one in Camps Bay over the weekend where the two parking bays in front of the Vida e were replaced with a wooden parklet extended their space into the road. Same as the one outside Clarke’s in Bree Street. Another cool idea that was revealed today is the Before I Die wall on Kloof Street in the CBD.
Have you seen it…did you write something down?
That’s the chaps from Creative Nestlings setting it up earlier today. If you happen to go down Kloof i think it’s on the wall next to Scar so go write something. It’s number 26 to be precise.
“Before I Die” is a global public art project that invites people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public space. Conceptualized by the artist Candy Chang and recreated around the world, the project is about remembering what is important to you and creating public spaces that better reflect what matters to us as a community and as individuals. What will you write?
