FNB banking app wins MTN App of the Year 2012
Posted by on Aug 2nd, 2012

Not often that Life is Savage covers the tech world, but last night was the inaugural MTN App of the Year 2012 awards…the Oscars of the local app world and the FNB Banking App walked away as the clear winner…scooping  the Best iOS App, Best Blackberry App, Best Android App and the Best Overall App.

The awards aim ‘to recognise not only the Apps that have made a marked impact on the industry over the last 12 months, but, just as importantly, the people behind them, by celebrating local talent and promoting South Africa as an innovation hub in the mobile space”.

The event was held at the Venue in Melrose Arch and judges included Toby Shapshak and Melissa Attree.

“The clear winner of the night was the FNB team with their innovative Banking App.

FNB hit all the right buttons. They were first, they launched on all platforms that South African used, they offered services that were convenient, the app is simple to use and navigate and it really does make people live easier. A well deserved win.” [TechieGuy]

Nicely done Farren Roper and the rest of the FNB team.
