Some time this week Cape Town will be getting a new name…//Hui !Gaeb.

10 points if you can pronounce that correctly.

Following the death of a San leader on the 13 June and in recognition of Khoisan history, Cape Town is set to get a new name and Nando’s is sponsoring billboards to advertise it. Nando’s got involved after being approached by Tania Kleinhans who saw the banned controversial Diversity TV ad.

The billboards are set to go up on the N2 and near the Castle.

“We will be putting up the boards for all to see, and if they’re taken down or vandalised, we will not retaliate. Instead, we will just keep replacing them,” Tania Kleinhans, of the Institute for the Restoration of the Aborigines of SA, said during a ceremony at the Castle of Good Hope yesterday.’ [iol]

Will get a pic for you as soon as they go up.
