It’s a public holiday today so i wasn’t really gonna post anything then i woke up at 5.30am and got bored so here’s your Friday morning music post.
It’s either gonna wake you the f**k up and get you amped for the long weekend or it’s gonna give you a headache if you have a hangover. Either way it’s a classic and you should watch it because why it’s my duty to show you what real music is.
I was never the greatest fan of Metallica, but you cannot deny that their music was crucial in defining the lives of many of you born in the 70’s and early 80’s. And while the song i chose may be their most popular, but the reason why i wanted to share it is because it was filmed during their Monsters Of Rock tour and their last concert , held on September 28, 1991 at Tushino Airfield in Moscow, was described as “the first free outdoor Western rock concert in Soviet history”.
And get this….it had a crowd estimated between 150,000 and 500,000 people, with some unofficial estimates as high as 1,600,000.
Yes that’s over one and a half million people. Just watch the video..it’s insane. Russian security was several soldiers deep.
Here’s Metallica performing Enter Sandman live in Moscow 1991.
Madness…imagine being in this.
Good times in Russia.
