FHM scraps March edition due to controversial ‘racist’ cover [pic]
Posted by on Mar 5th, 2012

In not-so-clever publishing news, FHM in the the Philippines has issued an apology and scrapped it’s March edition because it features a light skinned actress in a bikini on the cover surrounded by black models…nothing wrong with that except someone had the bright idea to add the caption “Bela Padilla…Stepping Out Of The Shadows“.

The pic caused enough outrage for FHM to scrap that one and print a new cover.

“According to the New York Times, the photo of swimsuit-clad Filipino actress Bela Padilla immediately met backlash from readers and social media users who argue the photo is racist and insensitive.”

“The outrage prompted local publisher Summit Media to issue an apology, scrap the edition and promise to print a new cover featuring Padilla.” [TIME]

Ya..not ideal that.

Would never happen at FHM South Africa…have you seen this months cover? It’s rather nice.
