No Banner to display

Facebook introduces Timeline for your brand or company page
Posted by on Mar 1st, 2012

You all know what Facebook Timeline is right… “posts and events are displayed along a timeline that runs through the center of the profile, with the option of adding events that occurred prior to the user joining Facebook.” Well it has previously only been available to individuals who joined the site, but now Facebook has added the Timeline option to pages of brands and companies etc.

Pretty neat to see how a brand or company has evolved over the years and what it was like before Facebook arrived.

Check the timeline of the New York Times page which now goes as far back as 1857. You can go back to see the newspaper articles when the Titanic sank in 1912.

Pretty cool that.

“Facebook announced on Wednesday morning that Timeline is now live for the first time for some organizations that use Pages.”

“Much like with profiles, the new platform has the potential for real design beauty, but with the added bonus of multiple publicly-known storylines and angles to draw from. The cover photo can be especially powerful for its ability to display logos, products or personalities. The timeline itself showcases brands’ unique stories and identities.” [Mashable]

Wonder if any local SA brands or companies have created their Timeline yet.

If you know of any cool ones then leave a comment hey.
