Damn…seems like South Africans are all over the US talk show circuit recently what with Trevor Noah killing it on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno HERE and now Die Antwoord appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman.
They are due to make their debut on Letterman this evening along with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Being on The Late Show isn’t the only waves Die Antwoord are making in the States right now as they also star in the new Alex Wang 2012 campaign.
“Wang’s secondary line, T by Alexander Wang, boasts a similarly sporty musical treatment, courtesy of South African hip-hop act Die Antwoord, who star in both the video and print ads. The video, which doubles as a promo clip for “Fatty Boom Boom” from the group’s new album, Ten$ion,” [Rolling Stone]
Here’s the video…clearly Alex Wang doesn’t mind swearing in his ad campaigns. That or he doesn’t know what fokken means.
Nicely done by Die Antwoord.
Going on Letterman and headlining a fashion campaign in America is good stuff. No secret that i’m not really a fan of their music, but you can’t help feeling proudly South African hey.
