Anyone else find this Good Hair Day support for CANSA slightly inappropriate? [pic]

Raising awareness for those battling cancer is never a bad thing, but does anyone else find it odd that this CANSA style-A-thon  is being promoted by ghd…or Good Hair Day, the global manufacturer of hair products?

I may be reading too much into things again, but i’m sure there are folks  in South Africa who have lost their hair to cancer treatment that are not too impressed by this. A tad insensitive if you ask me.

What do you reckon?

[thanks Lisa]

To say that it is mildly inappropriate is insulting to every person who lost their hair during cancer treatment. The company should be embarrassed and issue an apology or at the very least say they failed miserably.

I’m not sure I see the issue here. CANSA’s very own fundraising initiative has people shaving or colouring their hair in support. GHD is doing this to highlight the plight of people with cancer – since hair loss is a prominent part of the process, they are standing up and showing their support for those suffering. Am I missing something?
