MyCiTi bus service to extend to Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha
Posted by on Sep 1st, 2011

Cape Town mayor Patricia De Lille has announced that the MyCiTi bus service will be extended to include an express service between Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain and central Cape Town.

She stated that the service would be rolled out by December 2013 and that it would shuttle survivors to and from work after the Mayan apocolypse. (ok she didn’t really say that last bit ,but we all know she wanted to hey)

She also stated that.

“This express service will provide new avenues of opportunity for our people who have been let down by the lack of capacity in passenger rail services,”

“In addition, new services are also planned for transport corridors between the metro south east and the southern, northern and west coast suburbs, where passenger demands are high but rail service does not exist. ” [iol]

No word yet on the proposed route or the where the bus stations will be, but as soon as i get a map i’ll get it to you folks.

Good times Patty.
