The rainbow warrior tree hugger peoples of Greenpeace Africa have blocked one of the entrances to Eskoms headquarters in Johannesburg with 5 tonnes of coal.

I some how imagined 5 tonnes to be alot more than that hey. That’s how much coal my mate Basil uses to cook a couple of drumsticks and wors at a weekend braai.

Go check more pics and video HERE.

Anyways..the folks over at Greenpeace reckon they are staging the protest to highlight “the true cost of Eskom’s addiction to coal: environmental destruction at every step, the pollution of scarce water supplies and the destruction of people’s health and wellbeing.”

Apparently its also the AGM of Eskom today so they are giving them something to think about.

I can just picture one the suites in that meeting shaking his head saying: “dammit.why didn’t they put down some plastic first”.

You reckon these type of demonstrations work or not?

It won’t work.

The average South African is still an overweight SUV craving moron.
Only when petrol goes to R50/litre and the skies are black with coal smoke will the fat ignorant ones wake up.
But then it will be too late. Enjoy semi breathable air while you can, we’re about to be given a nice blanket of smog for christmas to go with the poisoned water supply.

At least Eskom has 5 tonnes extra coal to help stop the next rolling blackouts
