Cape Town should organise a ‘SlutWalk’
Posted by on Jun 13th, 2011

On Saturday 5000 marchers turned up in London for the ‘SlutWalk’ to create awareness for womens rights and get the message across that dressing in provocative clothing is not asking for it.

The movement started in Toronto when a policeman made a comment that women should “avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised”.

Someone should organise a Cape Town SlutWalk event hey.

And please make signs like that one  back left there. Quality that one.

There have been similar events in North America, Sydney and Mexico and it’s about time South Africans let there voices be heard.

Make it happen folks.

Real men don’t rape.

There was a similar “walk” held in 2008 when a woman was sexually assaulted in Johannesburg. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7276654.stm
