Gary Kirsten and Allan Donald to coach SA cricket
Posted by on Jun 6th, 2011

Cricket South Africa is expected to officially announce later today that Gary Kirsten will be the new Proteas coach and Allan Donald (who completely dissed the New Zealand cricket team at the last minute) will be appointed as his assistant.

Allan Donald had already agreed to coaching New Zealand and the terms of his contract had already been negotiated, but on Saturday he declined the job to team up with Kirsten as the Proteas bowling coach.

“Gary Kirsten is expected to be named the new South Africa coach on Monday. The former India coach and South Africa opening batsman was interviewed for the position on May 16 and a CSA insider told ESPNcricinfo that he is the “leading candidate” for the job.” [ESPN Cricinfo]

Ok so it hasn’t officially been announced yet,  but since everyone is speculating that Kirsten will get the job i may as well do the same hey.

Nice one Gazza…good luck trying to rid the Proteas of that ‘chokers’ tag.

Its all good and well to have Kirsten as the new coach, But lets not get too excited and think that guarantees us winning the world cup. We still need to go out and play. India had ur Dhoni`s who could come out and play if needed. less said about his counterpart the better.
