As of midnight tonight (August 28th) Piggs Peak Poker will stop operating to South African players.

pppstops

In the ongoing saga surrounding the ban last week of online gambling in South Africa HERE we initially told you that poker sites like Piggs Peaks and Silver Sands would still be operating until they appealed, but a new notification from the Operations Director for Piggs,Lew Saul Koorhas confirmed that they will shut down the tables today.

As you are aware we lost our application in the Pretoria High Court regarding the legality of South Africans playing on our Swaziland licensed internet casino which has serious implications for South African players. We are in the process of applying for leave to appeal the judgement and felt that we could continue operating in the interim. We have since been advised that we should stop operating for South African players until the matter has been resolved.

In your interests we have taken a decision to stop operating from midnight Saturday August 28 until application for leave to appeal has been heard and decided upon, which we feel should take no longer than a week or two.  All remaining player balances, will be held safely at Piggs Peak Casino Swaziland. You can cash in any balance by e-mailing support@piggspeak.com and your request will be processed.

Yours Sincerely,

Lew Saul Koor
Operations Director
Piggs Peak Casino “

And so it begins. Is this really the end on online poker in South Africa?

So what is the likely outcome of this development. Are you gonna withdraw the money in your account?

Plenty of questions, hopefully we can get some answers from those in the know.

Apparently online sports betting sites like Great Odds are still in business since they are registered locally. So it seems like the SA gambling board is fine with you gambling from sites where they are getting cash from.

The pig has turned into a chicken…

Carry on operating. Why should Piggs Peak Casino be the policeman for the gambling Board…

Cluck, cluck… cluck, cluck…

It is impossble to win playing against computer programmed games.
Make an application for a licence in South Africa to operate here. You should of
done this many years back. You have made enough money.

Open accounts for all your players in a neutral country and deposit a small amount for each one to continue playing. Then devise a way for them to repay you
and to make further deposits.

Good Luck.

This countries laws are starting to make me sick. Since when did we turn into a dictatorship?! Is there any way we can stay posted with regular updates as to how the appeal is going?
