OBZ Festival 2010: Observatory Festival of Arts
Posted by on Jul 28th, 2010

Just to clarify..the old OBZ Festival has undergone a makeover and has a fancy new name. From now on will be known as the  Observatory Festival Of Arts 2010. Sounds a bit larney hey…. like it needs to klap a bong.

Last year the street festival in Observatory Cape Town was cancelled because childish FIFA was hosting the World Cup draw at the same time HERE.

The 2010 OBS Art Festival set for December 2010 is now on track , but the launch event is next week August 6 at Bijou Cinema & Art Studios in Observatory.

“Now in its 14th year the Observatory Festival has been renamed The Observatory Festival of Arts. This year’s festival facilitates a cross pollination of audiences for ideas and forms, develops a multi-disciplinary platform for intercultural dialogue and interaction, and is representative of one of the largest residential arts communities in South Africa – The Observatory. In collaboration with a multitude of organisations, the festival challenges perspectives on the nature and importance of arts activity in South Africa, its relevance to the wider audience and the relationship between “our own environments” and the “outside world”.”

A must if you are the arty creative type.

So don’t just sit there wondering why there are no events that cater to your creative side. Go to the launch and see what its about.

They have a Facebook event page HERE with more details and if you’re one of those people who like to see who else is attending then go wild..its close to 400 already.
