The Kulula ad FIFA don’t want you to see.[PIC]

Who the hell does fifa (small letters and it stays from now on) think they are.

South African airline Kulula recently recieved a letter from fifa saying they must remove advertising that is illegally associated to the 2010 World Cup. This is apparently what fifa said cannot be used.

“They cannot depict the Cape Town stadium, soccer balls, the word South Africa, the National Flag and cannot even make any reference to the World Cup. The very South African vuvuzela, which is part of South African culture, cannot be used.”

WTF?

It’s our country you asswipes.

Ok, so Kulula was a bit sneaky. They indirectly referred to the World Cup, but lets just put that down to clever advertising shall we. They probably knew all along the ads were gonna be pulled so give them a noddy badge for clever marketing as well while you at it.

You know what to do if you wanna see the bigger version.

“Low-cost airline Kulula.com has fallen foul of Fifa’s fierce marketing laws and been forced to pull all its advertising linked to fares over the World Cup period.

The carrier has a reputation for irreverent, tongue-in-cheek marketing campaigns, but this time, according to Fifa, it has gone too far.” [iol.co.za]

Offside fifa. Just for that i’m gonna say soccer balls, vuvuzela,World Cup, South Africa all in one sentence.

Good times.

This is a fantastic ad. Could you please tell me where you saw it published and which date– I would like to cite it for use in a university paper on airline marketing. Thanks!

Watched the match between France and Uruguay. Too bad it was a draw. Wondering if there will be more tie matches??
